Gluten gets a bad wrap, and it's not without reason. BUT you know who is the snipper from the side? Corn. And this is coming from a CORN LOVER. 🌽 A few quick facts about corn from gluten free society: Corn is the second most genetically modified food on the planet. Say No to squeezed out juice from the juice box. The worst. Step 1: Pull the tabs up. Actually this is the real step 1: Tell your kids to hold their horses, you're getting their juice box. Step 2. Do the original step one. Step 3. Hand them the juice box and tell them to hold onto the 'wings'. Step 4: Don't clean up squeezed out juice. Happy Juice Box Drinking! . . .
We camp, a lot. We have been down the entire West coast and even to the Islands off Washington. Beach camping ✅Mountain camping ✅Forest camping ✅ Desert camping ✅... You name it, we've done that type of camping. Now 99.9% of the time we camp in our trailer, it is like our second home. It is rare that we camp without her, but on some occasions we leave her at home. Our first bought of glamping was when we were in the San Juan Islands. We didn't take our trailer simply because we didn't know/trust/believe that we could take our 30 foot trailer on a ferry boat to the island, i mean wahhhh??? (and for the record, it can be done. Pretty amazing) That being said, I am glad we didn't . . .
We didn't have much time (or money) to plan an extravagant trip because of my husbands fire schedule and his captains test, but what's spring break without a little get away? So in the spirit of spring break, we decided to head to a small and quaint town on the central coast of California called Solvang. I have passed this town many a times going back and forth from San Diego to San Luis and to be honest, the only memory I have of this town is the time I got pulled over for speeding. Whoops. 🤨 Although this Danish town is known for its wine tasting and shopping (both fun for the adults, not so much for the kids) we actually found plenty of neat cool things to do. Family friendly . . .
If you're anything like my me and my husband, you randomly yet appropriately spout off a line from a childhood movie. *His favorite- "when the wave breaks here, don't be there or you're gonna get drilled* And if your kids are anything like mine, they look at you in complete confusion. My husband has for YEARS spouted off lines from different movies (mostly Goonies and North Shore)... sometimes most of the time out of the blue. And he most always ends in a 'literally laugh out loud' (to himself) moment. Movies of the 80s and 90s give us (middle aged *said apprehensively*) parents a true sense of nostalgia. I can't decide in my older age if these movies actually WERE good? or if because . . .
BINGO and FIND IT Dude. When I was a child we played two games- the license plate game (damn you Vermont) and the alphabet game (damn you x). But life doesn't have to be like that anymore. And it actually isn't in my kids generations because of ONE word- the MACHINE. 🤖 My friend calls all electronics "the MACHINE" and I love it. This includes but is not limited to: iPads, DVD players, portable video game devices, iPhones... you get it. And if I am being honest with you, I do like to have the machine as an option for a portion of the time in the car (good time for the hubs and I to actually talk to each other uninterrupted, can i get an amen? 💁🏻♀️) but that being said, I do think there is . . .
